Using Urban Mixed Land use Measuring Indices And Spatial Statistics Techniques In Urban Sustainable Development Planning (Case Study: Ardabil City)

Introduction: Land use mixing is one of the essential components of the urban landscape in the sustainable development of urban areas and diversity of land uses. The location of urban land-uses has a significant impact on the quality of life and efficiency of services related to different land uses. Mixed land use enables residential, work, shopping, and public services adjacent to each other and promotes non-motorized transportation modes (public transportation, walking, and cycling) in neighborhoods. Also, it can address energy and transportation problems in urban environments. The purpose of this study is to investigate promoting sustainability via mixed land use. Methodology: In this study, entropy, access, and focal statistics at the scale of urban blocks were calculated and evaluated the land-use mix of Ardabil city using the capability of spatial analysis in the GIS. Also, the degree of correlation between different land-use mixing indices was calculated using the Pearson coefficient, and finally, by calculating the Moran index, the correlation of neighborhoods in terms of urban land use mixing was investigated from a spatial perspective. Results: The results of this study show that user mixing based on focal statistics index is low. According to the index of residential user access to other uses, the distance between the number of domains in Ardabil is not considerable and is balanced. Also, the desired value of the distance is low, and user mixing based on entropy index shows a significant difference in uniformity and weakness in land use distribution. Conclusion: The results of this study show that land-use mixing based on the focal statistics index is low, and land-use mixing is based on the index of residential access to other uses. Based on the linear regression test, the distance from the city center reduces the mixing of land uses.
